01 · What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site remember your preferences and behaviour between visits. This policy also covers similar technologies — local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — collectively referred to as "cookies".
02 · Categories we use
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. remembering your cookie preferences). Always on. No consent required under the ePrivacy Directive.
- Analytics — privacy-preserving aggregate stats so we can understand which pages are useful. Only set if you opt in.
- Functional — remember UI choices (e.g. reduced motion override). Only set if you opt in.
- Marketing — we do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies.
03 · The actual list
At the time of writing, this is the full list of cookies the site may set:
- bgs_consent — strictly necessary, 12 months. Stores your cookie preferences.
- bgs_ui_motion — functional, 6 months. Remembers your reduced-motion override.
- _plausible_* — analytics (Plausible.io, EU-hosted, cookieless by default). Used only if a future analytics module is enabled with your consent.
We update this list whenever a new cookie is introduced. If you spot a cookie not listed here, please tell us at office@bluegrid-systems.com.
04 · Third-party cookies
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts and embeds a OpenStreetMap iframe on the contact page. These services may collect your IP address as part of normal HTTP delivery, but do not set persistent cookies in their default configuration.
05 · Your consent
On your first visit, only strictly-necessary cookies are set. Any analytics or functional cookies require your explicit opt-in via the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer (added once opt-in tracking is enabled).
06 · Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly-necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
